Lots of factors make up modern life and it is difficult to define what exactly the term means. On a scale of 1 to 5 respondents had to rate how important each value is to them in today’s modern world. Healthy lifestyle is very important for 70% of respondents, especially for the 46-65 age group. A healthy diet is equally important to people (especially for people with the highest monthly net income). Environmental awareness matters to two-thirds of respondents. The proportion of those who managing their finances consciously is the highest, 59% among those who are planning for the long term. Social responsibility is a value that is more important for women than for men.
Digital tools and solutions in so many fields of life
Digital tools now form an essential part of everyday life – in work, learning and leisure alike. Our smartphones, laptops and smart devices keep us connected to the world. The use of digital solutions is important to 53% of those surveyed. 98% use a smartphone, but only 2 people in 10 have a landline phone. There is a significant difference in laptop use (63%) by education level, with university graduates twice as likely to use a laptop as those with a primary school education. Two-thirds of respondents no longer use traditional TV services. When it comes to finances, more than half of respondents live day-to-day or only think 1-3 months ahead. Two-thirds of respondents are trying to be more financially conscious and 60% are using less cash than before. Half of those surveyed are interested in smart home solutions, mostly those in the higher income bracket.
We spend a large part of our day in front of a screen
With the conquest of technology, we spend more and more time in front of a screen. While digital devices offer many benefits, excessive screen time can affect our health and daily lives. 61% of those surveyed spend more than 5 hours a day in front of a screen. Among those who spend between 8 and 10 hours (18%) in front of a screen, the proportion of people with a university degree is significantly higher. Those who spend more than 10 hours (14%) in front of a screen tend to belong to the 26-35 age group. Physical activity and healthy living are also increasingly shaping modern society. 39% of respondents do sports regularly, either as a hobby or competitively. But nearly a third of respondents don’t exercise regularly and don’t even plan to change this. Modern life isn’t just about being always available, it is also about making conscious choices about how we spend our time. //
