The mega settlements affect food safety badly
The participants of the food conservation congress held in Düsseldorf, Germany, that excessive urbanization, especially in the so-called “mega settlements” (cities with a population of more than 10 million) have a negative impact on food security.
According to Klaus Töpfer, the director of the institute monitoring sustainability; in the wake of urbanization the food supply and distribution should be reconsidered considering the possibilities of urban agriculture – reports portfolio.hu, after Agrár Európa.
