Mediterranean diet can also be effective against overeating
In a study described in the Obesity professional journal, scientists from the Wake Forest Medical University found out that Mediterranean monkeys had not consumed all the food, although they could, so they kept their normal weight – Medicalxpress.com told.
“On the other hand, the animals on the western diet have eaten much more than they needed and became obese” – Carol A. Shively, chief pathologist of the university told.
The researches on the calorie intake of different diets was largely based on studying human populations based on self-reported questionnaires, and was often unreliable or rodents were examined that did not live on human diets. (MTI)
