Half of Hungarians are planning a holiday abroad
According to the latest survey by Insura.hu, this summer 56% of customers are planning a vacation abroad, typically with a stay of at least one week. The survey, based on 2,600 responses, also shows that the majority of respondents prefer traveling abroad over domestic locations, with only 36% preferring the latter. In addition, 39% stated that they plan to travel both domestically and abroad, while 32% only plan domestic trips and 17% only travel abroad.
Among those traveling abroad, 59% are planning a vacation of at least one week, and 19% would include both a longer and a shorter trip. 14% plan trips of only a few days, while 8% plan one-day trips. The financial impact of trips is also decisive: 11% cannot afford a vacation at all this year, and another 40% can only plan a more modest trip.
Insura.hu also published interesting data in the field of travel insurance: two-thirds of the respondents take out insurance for all trips abroad, the average price of which in the first four months was HUF 11,700, which represents a 7-8% increase compared to last year.
Croatia (26%), Italy (15%) and Austria (9%) were among the most popular destinations based on the insurance policies concluded last summer, and these proportions are expected to remain similar this year.
