Hungarian customers want a stress-free Christmas: they shop online in advance and spend over HUF 100,000 on gifts
Hungarians plan to spend more than HUF 100,000 on Christmas presents this year. This is revealed by Alza’s October survey. As part of its own survey, the e-shop asked nearly a thousand customers when and where they most often buy Christmas gifts, or what they are most worried about when shopping.
Respondents mostly want to do their pre-Christmas shopping in time, in advance. The questionnaire revealed that the majority of them, 47%, shop in November, 36% in the first half of December, and only 9 percent of respondents leave it for the last week before the holiday. Consumers still buy tech items most often as Christmas gifts.
“Every year we see a growing trend for other goods as well. This year, toys are in second place (15%), closely followed by books (13%) and clothing (11%). Customers also buy cosmetics and perfumes, household goods , experiences, food and alcohol, dietary supplements or jewelry can also be purchased at Alzán, for example, sports or pet supplies accessories for cars and motorcycles”
– said Dávid Nagy, Alza’s PR manager.
In the October survey, 59 percent of respondents said that they most often choose a combination of e-stores and physical stores to buy gifts, 34% only shop online, few chose only physical stores, a total of 8%.
