Invitation to the XIV. Saint Stephen’s Day Bread Competition of the Hungarian Bakers’ Association
The Hungarian Bakers’ Association has officially launched the 14th annual St. Stephen’s Day Bread Competition for 2025, one of the most prestigious events in the country’s baking industry. The aim is to foster innovation and uphold the high standards of traditional Hungarian baking while encouraging new products that reflect evolving consumer preferences.
🥖 Bakeries can enter in three categories:

Innovative Bread
-
Layered Pastry for On-the-Go Consumption
Only products made with 100% Hungarian ingredients are eligible for the competition. Winners will not only receive professional recognition, but also cash prizes.
📅 Key Dates and Details:

Entry deadline: April 30, 2025

Entry fee: HUF 5,000 + VAT per product

First round (preliminary judging): May 14, 2025
-
Second round (public finals with media): June 4, 2025
The top 9 products selected in the preliminary round will compete in the public final round, open to media representatives. The winner must also agree to attend the official press event and supply and sell their winning product at the national celebration on August 20 in Budapest.
