The Hungarian agriculture and food industry is also successful in international markets
Let’s not forget that there is no harvest without sowing seeds, just as there is no strong and competitive Hungary without a strong countryside, said Minister of Agriculture István Nagy on the festive Thanksgiving Day organized after the end of the autumn agricultural work, on Sunday in Eger.
In his speech, the head of the ministry emphasized that our country has an agriculture and food industry that is effective on international markets and produces high added value. Hungarian agriculture is able to supply Hungarian families with safe, high-quality food. It also has a strategic role in peacetime, and now its responsibility has increased – added István Nagy, and then emphasized: everyone should think with a grateful heart about the Hungarian farmers and agricultural workers, who thanks to their diligence can put fresh and safe food on the tables of Hungarian families. Hungarian agriculture is the country’s bulwark, protecting and feeding the people, workers and producers living in the Carpathian Basin for thousands of years. Domestic agriculture and rural development is not only a matter for the people living in the countryside, but the common responsibility and future of all of us, the Minister of Agriculture reminded. The Government of Hungary stands up for Hungarian interests, whether it’s about Ukrainian grain, utility reduction or curbing inflation, added István Nagy.
