The Hungarian-Mexican cooperation also benefits companies producing GMO-free food
The domestic economy benefits a lot from the development of cooperation between Hungary and Mexico, many Hungarian companies were able to strengthen their presence on the market of the Latin American country, according to the ministry’s announcement, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said on Friday in Mexico City.
The head of the ministry reported that Mexico has undergone significant development in the recent period and is now among the fifteen countries with the most developed industry in the world.
For Hungary, Mexico is the number one partner in Latin America, and Hungarian companies have benefited a lot from cooperation and the development of the local economy and industry in recent years.
“We are working to ensure that this remains the case in the future”
– he stated.
“Thanks to the efforts of the past period, we managed to stabilize our annual trade turnover at over one billion dollars, with a significant Hungarian surplus. A seven percent increase could be registered last year as well,”
he underlined.
Péter Szijjártó assessed the growing demand for the products and services of Hungarian companies as a great achievement, especially in digital construction planning, the pharmaceutical industry, the production of medical devices and the printing industry.
“The increase in demand for Hungarian products in these industries also induces Hungarian investments”
– he announced.
He then called it a serious opportunity for Hungarian companies “producing world class” in the field of food safety, that Mexico is planning to eliminate GMOs in certain areas of agriculture.
In this regard, he emphasized that the export of Hungarian poultry products started in December, and that the Hungarian agriculture and food industry can expect further expansion of demand in Mexico in the coming years.
