A Hungarian school canteen is experimenting with meat-free meat
Recently, 265 children received meat-free Bolognese spaghetti made entirely from pea protein instead of meat – origo reports after Napidoktor.hu.
Although meat-free meat is not an unknown concept in Hungary – one of the fast-food chains has already introduced its plant-based meat in its new sandwich, and even a Hungarian meat-based meat company is breaking into the US market – but due to strict rules such food has not introduced yet. Now, however, an experiment has begun with meat substitutes made from pea protein at a primary school in Budapest. (origo)
