A third of Hungarian households claim to be eco-active and do something to protect their environment
Sustainability and recycling are part of our everyday life, which a significant proportion of consumers strive for, both on weekdays and on special occasions such as a music event. In the round table discussion organized at the Sziget Festival, sustainability experts presented the best environmentally friendly practices. According to the participants, the population’s awareness can be increased by emphasizing attitude formation and cooperation of the affected areas.
According to a survey by Consumer Panel Hungary*, 34% of Hungarian households pay special attention to sustainability in their everyday decisions. In 2023, one third of Hungarian households were so-called eco-active, that is, customers who do as much as possible to reduce waste and feel responsible for leading a more sustainable lifestyle. According to Hungarian households, the two most important tasks for ensuring sustainable food supply systems are reducing waste (85%) and reducing waste (79%). Recycling is an almost everyday practice in most households, according to research, 87% regularly strive to do so, and 79% consciously choose recyclable packaging when shopping.
