Lidl produced the biggest growth in Portuguese retail in 2022
Sonae and Jerónimo Martins ended 2022 as the biggest players in Portuguese grocery retail, but Lidl produced the biggest growth – according to the latest data from Kantar. MC Sonae’s market share dropped from 28.7% in Q4 2021 to 27.1% in Q4 2022. In the same period Grupo Jerónimo Martins developed from 21.6% to 21.8% Lidl increased its share from 11.8% to 13.5%, attracting shoppers from MC Sonae.
