Thanks to Lidl, the bakery is expanding
As a member of the Simid Group, the Bulgarian company Hebar has made significant progress in opening up to export markets, mainly thanks to its long-term partnership with the Lidl supermarket chain. Hebar now sells its products in 10 European countries, such as Romania, Greece and Slovenia. The key to the company’s success lies in the use of natural ingredients, traditional technologies, and low salt content, which guarantee the daily availability of fresh and tasty bread.
Hebar has been in partnership with the German supermarket chain Lidl for two decades, which has enabled them to sell their products in 10 European countries. At the company’s production lines in Plovdiv, everything from mixing the ingredients to baking is done automatically, thus ensuring the quality and purity of the products. In the last three years, the export turnover increased by an average of 10 percent annually.
Hebar employs around 600 workers who supervise the production and ensure the reliability of the production. On the production lines, the dough travels about 200 meters until it finally turns into bread. As a result of a 6-hour process. The company employs not only Bulgarian workers, but also Nepali workers.
