The position of Lidl Hungary regarding the competition supervision procedure initiated by the GVH
Lidl Hungary’s position regarding the competition supervision procedure initiated by the Economic Competition Authority is as follows.
The Economic Competition Authority (GVH) has initiated a competition supervision procedure against Lidl Hungary due to Lidl Hungary’s price monitoring campaign. We cooperate with the authority during the investigation. According to our company’s point of view, we acted legally: we built our campaign on the data of the database operated by GVH, which is available to everyone, the comparison criteria were fair, objective and knowable. The purpose of the price watcher is to enable consumers to compare the prices of retailers. Our campaign also served this purpose.
Lidl’s primary goal is still to provide customers and Hungarian families with excellent value-for-money products and high-level service every day.
