Lidl’s sustainability report won the Green Frog award
Lidl Hungary won the 2023 Deloitte Green Frog Award, which recognizes companies with outstanding performance in the field of non-financial reporting. It is not the first time that the department store chain is among the award winners, with its first and now its second sustainability report for the 2020-2021 business years, it earned the recognition of the independent jury of experts, and thus the Outstanding Sustainability Report Award within the framework of the initiative.
Lidl Hungary assumes responsibility in all areas that it has an impact on as a company. It builds on consistent environmental protection for more sustainable resource use, climate and biodiversity protection. It is committed to creating good living and working conditions and fair cooperation. It works every day to provide its customers with an attractive and more sustainable product range. The company also places special emphasis on transparent communication, and therefore reports on its sustainability goals, measures and results achieved within the framework of its CSR strategy in the form of a sustainability report.
The supermarket chain’s most recently published sustainability report was also prepared according to the requirements of a recognized international standard, and it also shows the contributions of the company’s actions to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Along the lines of detailed indicators, it describes what Lidl is doing to make its supply chain more sustainable, to promote the circular economy, to reduce its emissions, or to create the most sustainable product range, among other things.
