Fat producing highest price rise
In January 2009, consumer prices were up by 0,6 per cent on average compared to December and by 3.1 percent compared to January 2008. Food prices were up 2.2 percent, compared to December. The prices of potato, vegetables, fruits, cooking oil, tobacco and alcoholic beverages increased. Food showed a faster than average price rise in 2008, with 4.6 percent in 12 months. The price of fat produced the highest rise (43 percent).
