More than 80 percent of the corn produced on 31,630 hectares in Zala County has already been harvested, with an average yield of 8.4 tons per hectare, the county president of the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI.
The average yield of maize per hectare exceeded last year’s average yield by 0.2 tons and there are no problems with the quality of the harvest either – Sabján Krisztián explained.
Farmers can sell corn for nearly 88.9 thousand forints per tonne, 40-50 percent higher than last year, he added. (MTI)
