The shopping centre of the near future
International shopping centre Westfield has presented its vision about the store of the future with the title Destination 2028. In Westfield’s concept the relationship between people and nature dominates. The shopping centre of the future is a microcity that offers not only shopping opportunities but also serves as a kind of community space. Westfield developed the concept based on the results of a survey they had conducted beforehand. The results were in accordance with the Transcendent Retail report of the Innovation Group from 2017. In this report 49 percent of millennials said they would be interested in using community and wellness services provided in shopping centres. New technological solutions will also be present in the shopping centre of the future.
