The first day of the finals of the KÖSZ 2023-2024 public catering cooking competition
As this year’s KÖSZ finals began, the first audience prize was awarded.
The defining theme of SIRHA Budapest 2024 is sustainability, which resonates with the philosophy and activities of the National Association of Caterers and Catering Managers (KÖZSZÖV), accordingly, the final of the KÖSZ 2023-2024 catering cooking competition organized at the exhibition is also based around this idea. Its purpose is to popularize public catering, improve its quality, and develop eating culture.
After the semi-finals in October, 12 teams of four reached the finals, which will take place on March 5-6-7, supplemented by professional programs, during the opening hours of the exhibition. Each day, 4 teams compete, and the quality of their work – food preparation technology, teamwork, organization, economical use of raw materials, hygiene, serving, cleaning of the competition box – is evaluated by a 4-person kitchen jury. At the end of the competition, which takes place between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., the audience can also taste the prepared dishes.
