On the path of environmental awareness, SPAR toGo food bars
In recent years, SPAR Hungary has launched a number of initiatives aimed at environmental awareness, responsible waste management and optimal energy management in its toGo food bars. The good news is that the amount of cooking oil used has been reduced, and plastic-free packaging and compostable cutlery have been introduced.
“Environmental sustainability is a strategic goal for SPAR at the entire company level, which includes the lowest possible energy consumption and responsible waste management. This is no different for our SPAR toGo units. Today, we have a total of 37 restaurants across the country, in which we have sold more than 9 million products in the past year, and our customer feedback has confirmed that there is a demand for high-quality, reasonably-priced dining options combined with shopping in many cases. Our company has launched important initiatives in recent years regarding the sustainable operation of our toGo units, and we have further plans for the future, for example to introduce plastic-free and biodegradable packaging materials, as well as to further reduce energy costs and waste.”
– explained Márk Maczelka, head of communications at SPAR Hungary.
