Event organizers are asking help from the government
The event organizers are asking for help from the government, because the industry, which produces almost a thousand billion forints a year, has practically ceased due to the pandemic in March – Ganczer Gábor, president of the Hungarian Association of Event Organizers and Service Providers said (MaReSz).
More than 80 percent of the events planned for this year in Hungary have been canceled, the president explained, emphasizing that they would like sector-specific assistance and wage subsidies similar to the musicians.
The more than 200 sectoral interest groups, mostly SMEs, have already submitted their proposals to the Hungarian Tourism Agency (MTÜ), the Prime Minister’s Office and the Economic Protection Operational Tribunal.
