After signing the strategic cooperation agreement, the Minister reported that although the company, which has been operating without interruption for 170 years, is now owned by Japan, Dreher has become so integrated with Hungarian culture and traditions that it is still considered a domestic company.

He explained that Dreher’s operations go beyond itself, as 8,500 Hungarian families livelihood depends on it, and 86 percent of its suppliers are domestic small and medium-sized enterprises.

“Thus, Dreher’s currently unmatched development program of one hundred billion forints represents a huge development opportunity for the supplying small and medium-sized enterprises, Hungarian enterprises”

– he pointed out.

He then underlined that this is the largest investment program ever in the Hungarian beer industry, within the framework of which the entire beer production in Kőbánya will be raised to a new level. “And we are happy that the first steps are already taking place. Technological innovations and novelties are being introduced that will “They will make Dreher outstanding and unique in the field of global beer production,” he said.

Based on all of this, the decision was made to put this already existing and highly valued strategic partnership in writing, and the Hungarian government signed its 103rd strategic cooperation agreement with Dreher” – he announced.

He further emphasized that

Strategic partners are the mainstay of the Hungarian economy: they employ more than 200,000 people, have an annual net sales revenue of more than 25,000 billion forints, produce 70 percent for export, and the majority Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises are used as suppliers.

Péter Szijjártó then touched on the successive crises of the past decade and a half, and welcomed the fact that despite all these difficulties, the actors of the Hungarian economy were capable of very serious feats.

“Because it is definitely such a feat to from the economy, that despite all these difficulties, one million more people have jobs in Hungary today than a decade ago. Just as it is an equally great feat from the economy that the lowest taxes on labor in Europe are paid by employees and employers here in Hungary. Or it is an equally great feat from the Hungarian economy that, while there are completely senseless price increases on the international energy market, we managed to keep prices under control here by reducing utility bills,” he listed.

At the same time, he also warned that in such a fragile period, the results achieved with great difficulty could easily be jeopardized due to the many uncertainties.

“That is why it is important that we guarantee Hungary the security that “which security is the prerequisite for calm, predictable economic planning” – he stated.

He then pointed out that the last four years, despite the war raging next door, were the most successful period in economic history in terms of investments in our country.
