The government is committed beside homemade pálinka
The Government is committed to retain the homemade pálinka cooking and would like to see that the tradition as part of the Hungarian cultural heritage would live on in Hungary – the Ministry of National Economy (NGM) responded to the judgment of the European Court of Justice on Thursday.
According to the of the European Court of Justice, it is not compatible with the EU law, that Hungary allowed to cook up to 50 liters of fruit distillate a year with the exemption from excise duties
The NGM stressed that after the decision, the Hungarian government will start talks with the European Commission and will try to ensure that the tradition, as part of the Hungarian cultural heritage would live on in Hungary” within the limits allowed by the European Union”. (MTI)
