Government backs the creation of online price monitoring system
Csaba Balázs Rigó, president of the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) has initiated the creation of a price watch system in the food sector. Minister for Economic Development Márton Nagy expressed the government’s support for the idea that can foster competition and lower the level of inflation. The two parties have already established a working group. Initially food product price monitoring will focus on the retail sector, and the system should be up and running by the end of the second quarter.
