Apple harvest has begun with early varieties
Apple harvest has begun with the harvest of the early varieties. This year a medium-high amount of crop is expected, but there can be problems with quality; producers sell the fruit on 80 – 110 forints per kilogram prices – Takács Ferenc, chairman of the Apple Marketing Board told MTI in Újfehértó on Friday.
Takács Ferenc added that intact flowers of the fruit gave satisfactory yields af the Easter frosts, so there will be no shortage of the quantity of apple. Takács Ferenc told that there are small areas with significant losses, due to frosts during the spring, but overall a good mid-crop is anticipated. (MTI)
