Kopint-Tárki expects a GDP growth of 4.5 percent this year
Kopint-Tárki expects faster growth this year than previously forecast: the research institute expects a sharp 4.5 percent increase in gross domestic product (GDP) in its latest economic report released on Wednesday, compared to the 3.5 percent forecast in December, due to the recovery in the second half of the year due to the lifting of pandemiological restrictions.
Palócz Éva, CEO of the institute, explained at an online press conference: the growth in 2021 will be partly due to a base effect, with a rebound of around 10 percent in the second quarter. Last year, the decline in the second quarter was 13.6 percent year-over-year. (MTI)
