Composts and peat moss sold the most
Among the observed yield-enhancing categories, producers purchased the largest quantities of various composts and peat. This accounted for three quarters of the total sales examined. In second place, based on sales, were soil suppressants and stubble breakers (stem breakers), followed by soil conditioners and soil conditioners.
The two product groups together accounted for 15 percent of sales. The categories of microbiological preparations and other industrial by-products, waste, organic and mineral products did not even reach 1 percent in volume. On the other hand, the category of other industrial by-products, waste, organic and mineral products represented the largest share in terms of value, accounting for 21.6 percent of all sales. A similar total value was achieved in the categories of soil inoculants and stubble breakers (stem breakers), plant conditioners, biostimulators and algae preparations and foliar fertilizers (18.6–21.3 percent). Of the 7 categories included in the report, 4 accounted for nearly four-fifths of total sales (algae products, foliar fertilizers; other industrial and processing industry by-products, waste, organic and mineral fertilizers; plant conditioners, biostimulators; soil inoculant and stubble breaking [stem breaking] products), while the remaining three product groups shared the remaining nearly 20 percent. Based on the data received, end users spent HUF 15.5 billion on the purchase of biological crop enhancers.
