The majority of SMEs do not plan any staff increase
Only around one in six domestic SMEs plans new recruitment of workers, while the majority of businesses expect stagnation in the number of the staff. Thus, spectacular growth in employment cannot be expected this year in the SME sector. In terms of employee salaries, every fourth company plans wage increases – according to the data of the K&H SME confidence index research.
According to the results of the latest survey, the companies' expectations concerning the labor market have improved slightly in the past years. The subindex is currently -11 points, whereas two years ago the figure was still -17 points. The improvement is due to the fact that only 3 percent of the companies are thinking about layoffs this year.
