K&H was named the Green Large Company of the Year
K&H Group has won the Green Awards – 2025 Green Large Company category award, recognizing its commitment to combating climate change. The award ceremony was held in conjunction with the Portfolio Sustainable World conference, where Levente Suba, the bank’s Head of Sustainability, also participated in a roundtable discussion on climate risks and sustainable economic transition.
The Green Awards – 2025 recognition confirms K&H’s ambitions: financing climate protection and the energy transition creates value not only for society in the long term, but also for customers and the bank.
Peter Roebben, CEO of K&H, emphasized: “Sustainability is not a separate project for us, but an integral part of our business operations. We believe that in the fight against climate change, banks must simultaneously ensure the transformation of the structure of the economy through financing, risk management and attitude formation. The fact that we have an outstanding share of green loans on the market today, nearly a trillion responsible investment assets and digital calculators supporting our clients is the result of conscious planning that we started years ago.”
K&H aims to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions of its financed portfolio along the 2 degrees Celsius warming path set out in the Paris Agreement. To this end, it has set sectoral targets, the achievement of which it publicly presents annually in its sustainability reports.
K&H stands out in the Hungarian banking market by increasing its green loan portfolio to HUF 153 billion, achieving a market share of more than 22 percent in both the retail and corporate green loan markets. The volume of K&H’s green home loans reached HUF 5 billion in the first half of 2025, which corresponds to 6 percent of new retail mortgages. Since its launch, K&H has disbursed green home loans worth HUF 24 billion. In addition, K&H has introduced unique customer solutions such as the residential energy efficiency calculator or the agricultural greenhouse gas calculator, which help households and companies to develop sustainable operations.
It has also made progress in the field of investments: almost 62 percent of gross sales have already flowed into the 31 responsible funds managed by K&H, and the assets under management exceed 1,000 billion forints, with which the bank has achieved a 50 percent market share.
