The Hungarian National Bank awarded K&H Insurance the Green Finance Award in the “Green Insurance and Treasury” category. The recognition is given to financial institutions that are at the forefront of supporting the green transition in their operations and services. K&H’s sustainability efforts are reflected in many areas, from insurance related to electric vehicles to prioritizing energy-efficient properties and renewable energy sources. The insurance company also reduces its environmental footprint through digital developments, and its customers are excellent partners in this: nearly 90 percent of home damage and 67 percent of vehicle damage are now reported online. In addition, one in four state-subsidized pension insurance policies are now taken out on mobile phones.

K&H, which treats sustainability steps as a key strategic goal, received serious recognition. The Hungarian National Bank presented the Green Finance Awards in 2025 at its International Green Finance Conference, which were announced in three categories – Green Bank, Green Insurance and Treasury, and Green Fund Management. The aim of the recognition is to present and encourage financial institutions that use innovative solutions to help develop a sustainable financial system and the green transition of the economy. K&H won the award in the “Green Insurance and Treasury” category. The decision was based on the company’s comprehensive sustainability strategy, which covers everything from product development to risk management.

“K&H’s sustainability efforts are based on several pillars, as we believe that the financial sector has a decisive role in accelerating the green transition. With our products and services, we help our clients to be part of this change. We are continuously developing our risk management methods across the entire group, including banking and insurance, in order to integrate climate risks into decision-making.”

– said Levente Suba, Head of Sustainability at K&H.

“At K&H Insurance, we particularly support services related to electric vehicles, and we offer premium discounts to customers who keep sustainability aspects in mind in relation to their homes. In addition, in the case of our pension insurance available in K&H mobile bank, 100 percent of the investment is made in responsible funds, and its popularity is clearly demonstrated by the fact that every fourth pension insurance policy is now taken out by the affected parties via mobile phone,” said Attila Kaszab, Deputy CEO of K&H Insurance.

Digitalization and paperless operations also play a key role in K&H’s sustainability strategy. Nearly 90 percent of home damage and 67 percent of vehicle damage are now reported online, which means faster administration, less paper use and a lower environmental impact. In addition, K&H also encourages its customers to use digital and paperless solutions throughout the entire life cycle of their contractual relationship. As a result, more than 90 percent of new contracts are now completely paperless. Digital developments thus not only mean convenience and efficiency, but also a tangible step towards reducing the environmental burden.

“We have done a lot to be seen as a reference for our sustainability efforts. The fact that we won the Hungarian National Bank’s Green Insurance and Treasury Award, the recognition of the Green Awards – 2025 green large company category, and the Euromoney “Hungary’s Best Sustainable Bank” title in 2025 all show that we are on the right track. These awards not only confirm our commitment to fighting climate change, but also inspire us to further strengthen these efforts. Sustainability is not a separate project for us, but an integral part of our business operations”

– added Levente Suba.
