Bad summer for retailers
In July 2011 the volume of retail fell by 1.3 percent, if compared with July 2010 – reports KSH. In the first seven months of the year volume sales in retail were 0.3 percent below the level of January-July 2010. Domestic retail network and mail order companies generated sales of HUF 700 billion in June and HUF 4,278 billion in the first seven months. Food and food type product stores realised 1.8 percent lower volume sales than twelve months earlier. Examining the first seven months of the year 2011, we can see stagnation in volume sales.
