The CÖF-CÖKA and the Egyenlő.hu trade union propose an amendment to the law to help trade workers
The Egyenlő.hu modern trade union cooperating with the Civil Solidarity Forum (CÖF) – the Civil Solidarity Nonprofit Foundation (CÖKA) – proposes a change in the law to help commercial workers and their families – it was announced at the CÖF-CÖKA press conference held on Tuesday in Budapest.
Csaba Bubenko, the president of the trade union, said that by supplementing the personal income tax law, traders would be given the opportunity to give their employees a discount on the price of the products they sell. With the stipulation that the amount to be paid for the product through the discount cannot be less than the purchase price of the product plus VAT.
The commercial companies involved could give employees a discounted purchase of up to HUF 35,000 per month – he continued. This amount could be increased annually by the rate of annual inflation determined by the Central Statistical Office, he added.
