Good weather helped the food industry
In August industrial production was 4.4 percent higher than a year earlier. Domestic sales have not grown in any of the months since October 2010. Industrial export augmented by 9.8 percent in the first eight months of 2011 and increased by 8.6 percent in August – in both cases compared with one year earlier. Food, beverage and tobacco production soared by 11.2 percent: partly because the agricultural production level was higher and products were of better quality, but also because of the public health product fee – extra production activity was carried out for stockpiling purposes. In August 2011 there were 12 percent more new orders in the observed processing sectors.
