JYSK continues to expand in Hungary – they are opening two new stores
JYSK continues to expand its presence in Hungary and opens two new stores in March. Together with the units in Bicske and Várpalota, the company already operates 98 stores in the country. Meanwhile, the company announces a global renovation of older stores, more than 3,300 stores worldwide will operate according to a new, greener concept.
New stores were opened in Solymár and Mór in the Budapest agglomeration, then in the 19th district and Szarvas. Another new store is planned to be opened in the 2023/24 financial year. Despite the increase in the number of online purchases, there is still a significant demand for physical stores, especially for higher value products such as furniture and mattresses.
Sándor Szimeiszter, JYSK country director responsible for Hungary, Austria and Greece, emphasized the importance of physical presence in order to serve customers.
“We see that, despite the increase in the number of online purchases, there is still a significant demand for physical stores, especially for higher-value products, such as furniture and mattresses. We also consider it important to be close to customers both in the capital and in the countryside, so stores are constantly opening all over the country”
– said Szimeiszter.
