The future doesn’t wait: Bosch and Richter are looking for a new generation of innovators
Two of Hungary’s leading innovative large companies are looking for future-shaping ideas from talented young people: this year they are announcing the BoschxRichter Industrial Innovation Award for Hungarian university and college students for the third time. The competition encourages students to shape the future of healthcare and transportation with a new approach and creative, constructive ideas.
The competition is an important pillar of the unique cooperation between the Bosch Group in Hungary and Richter Gedeon Plc. The award, launched in 2024, aims to inspire students to think innovatively, identify challenges that affect our future, and develop unique, fresh concepts.
Sustainable solutions from Generation Z
In the past two years, the BoschxRichter Industrial Innovation Award has been awarded to forward-looking solutions that can make future healthcare and mobility more efficient by addressing an important problem. The winning projects aimed at, among other things, the treatment of dementia, more accurate drug dosing, easier mapping of side effects, and early detection of a common gynecological disease at home. In the field of sustainable mobility, the focus of the award-winning applications was on recycling products destined for disposal, expanding self-driving technology, more efficient and greener urban public transport, or converting waste heat into electricity.
Significant awards and professional mentoring for the best solutions
Students studying in higher education can apply for the 2026 BoschxRichter Industrial Innovation Award in individual and group categories between February 16 and midnight on May 14. A challenge that significantly affects the future and a practically feasible solution must be developed in the field of healthcare or mobility. Applications must be submitted in writing on the website www.boschxrichter.hu.
The individual winners will receive a cash prize of 1 million forints, and teams of up to three people will receive a cash prize of 500 thousand forints per member. The organizers will also support the winners with professional mentoring and corporate know-how. The winners will also have the opportunity to present their work to a professional audience at the BoschxRichter Innovators’ Day in September 2026. Further details of the competition can be found on the www.boschxrichter.hu page.
The winning entries will be decided by a prestigious jury in 2026, with the participation of renowned figures such as Judit Polgár, Olympic champion and international chess grandmaster, Zsuzsa Beke, Head of Group PR, CSR and Government Relations at Richter Gedeon Plc., Dr. Balázs Lendvai, Head of Pharmacology and Drug Safety Research at Richter Gedeon Plc., Head of the Richter Department at Semmelweis University, Teodóra Bodó, Director of Communication and Government Relations at Bosch Group in Hungary and the Adriatic Region, and Mátyás Pótsa, Head of Innovation Ecosystem at Bosch Group in Hungary.
