Getting to know good practices also helps producer organizations
The National Chamber of Agrarian Economy – with the cooperation of FruitVeB and other professional partners – organizes a conference related to producer organizations operating in the fruit and vegetable sector. The primary goal of the program is to present Hungarian and international positive examples and good practices to domestic producers and producer organizations, as well as a professional dialogue about the future of producer organizations.

The conference organized by the National Chamber of Agrarian Economy (NAK) will take place on October 17 in Kecskemét, followed by a plant visit in Szentes the next day. The event is entitled “Producer organizations in the fruit and vegetable sector – European and domestic good practices”, The professional partner of the conference is the Hungarian Fruit and Vegetable Association and Product Council (FruitVeB). At the conference, Viktor Balázs, NAK’s national vice-president responsible for environmental sustainability and innovation, and Ferenc Apáti, the president of FruitVeB, will give a welcome address, then Márton Bittsánszky, head of department at the Ministry of Agriculture, will give a presentation on producer cooperation in Hungary. Afterwards, Ferenc Apáti talks about the role of organization in the sector, Anita Kozak, NAK’s leading horticulture expert, gives a presentation on the operation and situation of domestic producer cooperatives. Elli Tsiforou, general secretary of Copa-Cogeca, gives an account of the fruit and vegetable producer organizations operating in the EU and their advocacy online. Claire Martin, head of the European representative office of La Coopération Agricole in France, Agnieszka Maliszewska, vice-president of Copa-Cogeca, will talk about cooperation with Polish producers. According to the plans, interested parties can also get to know the situation of Spanish producer organizations, and several key domestic organizations will also report on their experiences. Among them are Sándor Nagypéter, president and managing director of the Délalföldi Kertészek Cooperative (DélKerTÉSZ), Andrea Nemes-Nagyné Vas, managing director of TriVega Kft., and Máté Tömösváry, president of the BALATON-KER-TÉSZ Cooperative.
