A good price-value ratio is not enough, and it doesn’t matter what the food court is like in shopping centers either
About half of the residents of Pest and Pest County between the ages of 16 and 70 choose food courts in shopping centers every 2-3 months, and one in four of them on a weekly basis.
Marketing Resolution assessed the needs of consumers in this area on behalf of Westend, and according to the results, the ideal food court is one where consumers can buy the food they want at a good price and of good quality, which they can then eat in a clean, hygienic environment. The research also reveals that instead of independent food courts, the majority prefers those located in shopping centers for reasons of practicality. In addition, a significant proportion of respondents – 20 percent – regularly visit shopping centers specifically for eating, this is mainly typical of young men with higher incomes. For most people, eating in shopping centers is a routine activity, not a festive occasion, and only a third of them eat their menu alone, the rest come in the company of 2-3 people. The busiest times are in the early afternoon, and the most visited days of the week are Friday and Saturday. Consumers spend an average of 39 minutes eating in food courts and during this time they spend approximately HUF 3,500 per person.
