World trade has not fell so big since World War II
In 2009, the volume of world trade, decreased by 12 percent. Such fall have not seen, since the Second World War – notified the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In December, the WTO estimated last year’s world trade fall to only 10 percent, but now amended the data to 12 percent.
Pascal Lamy called trade as the victim of the crisis and urged the continuation of the negotiations, that are currently paused. The Doha talks were launched in 2001, in order to reduce the disadvantages of the poor countries in trade. The closing deadline for negotiations has repeatedly postponed, now the target date is the end of 2010 – reports Világgazdaság Online.
