Awards in HUNGAROPACK Packaging Competition
74 nominations from 34 companies were entered for the 24th HUNGAROPACK Hungarian Packaging Competition. A jury composed of industry experts and representatives of trade organisations and ministries selected the projects to be rewarded. The three projects with the highest points received the HUNGAROPACK 2007 award. Over 50 per cent of nominations were related to packaging systems for food, but many came from the chemical industry. Two major trends are detectable. One is to please customers by improving the basic packaging function, like extending shelf life, or improving the convenience of use, while the other is to reduce the environmental impact by using less packaging materials or using packaging which can be recycled or reused. Award wining projects may participate in the WORLDSTAR 2007 International Packaging Competition.
