Dutch group DSM and France’s Avril to start making plant protein from 2022
Dutch nutrition company Royal DSM and French agri-food group Avril will start making rapeseed-based protein for the food industry in 2022. They have formed a joint venture called Olatein in which DSM has a 75-percent stake and Avril has 25 percent. The global plant-based protein market was estimated at USD 18.5 billion in 2019 and is forecasted to grow by 14 percent from 2019 to 2025, to reach USD 40.6 billion.
