The number of products with the Magyar Termék (Hungarian Product) trademarks in Tesco’s offer will continue to expand, and in order to emphasize the domestic origin and controlled quality, the chain will also use the trademark on its own branded products, the Magyar Termék Nonprofit Kft. announced on Tuesday.

According to the announcement, this is also included in the strategic agreement, which was signed on Tuesday to promote Hungarian products and make conscious purchases for consumers.

Today, 220 companies use one of the trademarks on more than 5,000 products. The economic significance of these is enormous: their total turnover is more than 1,700 billion forints, and their producers employ 43,000 people, Benedek Eszter, the managing director of the Magyar Termék Nonprofit Kft. said.
