The quarter of the domestic pig stock carries the PRRS virus that is not dangerous to humans
The so-called PRRS disease is not dangerous to humans, but sometimes it can cause big trouble to the pigs. The authorities have organized a national eradication program, and if it will succeed, a portion of import pigs may be banned from the country.
According to the preliminary datas; 25-30 percent of the large stocks, and 8-10 percent small-scale pig stocks are infected with PRRS virus. Overall, about the quarter of the domestic sow may be infected – reports szabadfold.hu.
