GVH launches its market analysis on the effects of artificial intelligence
The Economic Competition Authority (GVH) examines the effects of artificial intelligence on market competition and the transactional decision of consumers in the framework of a market analysis. The explosive spread of new technology can distort competition in digital sectors and put consumers in a more vulnerable position, which is why the national competition authority maps these risks in advance.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is an extremely fast-developing technology family that is already affecting the everyday lives of consumers, often without them even knowing about it. With the rapid development of AI-based tools and their integration into existing digital services, the technology may soon become a defining part of the everyday lives of individuals and businesses, and eventually even of the state administration. The further development of AI-based technology and its law-abiding, fair application can contribute to a wide range of economic and social benefits, but it also entails significant risks.
