The Hungarian Competition Authority proposes to encourage bank card acceptance
The Competition Authority (GVH) did not reveal any market disruption in the market for credit card acceptance, which would trigger the initiation of a competition supervision procedure, but suggested measures to encourage bankcard acceptance, which is evident in GVH’s market research on bank card acceptance.
In its announcement sent to the MTI, the GVH emphasizes that bank card payments are still not wide enough in Hungary, even though the decrease in cash use could contribute to the suppression of the gray economy. (MTI)
