The speakers of the Free University analysed the slowdown in the economy, agricultural self-sufficiency and issues of minority rights
Speakers of the 31st Bálványosi Summer University and Student Camp held lectures on the expected economic recession, the importance of agricultural self-sufficiency, and the issue of minority rights in Tusnádfürdő on Thursday. At the opening lecture, Finance Minister Mihály Varga emphasized that the European Union is essentially weakened by its own sanctions, the question is whether it can survive the punitive measures introduced against Russia. He explained: the increase in inflation, the rise in energy and food prices, the increase in interest rates and the resulting more expensive loans show clearly that the world, including Hungary, is headed for an economic slowdown.
