France’s Ynsect targets the food market by acquiring Protifarm
France’s Ynsect is buying Dutch company Protifarm, as part of its strategy for targeting the market of healthy and sustainable food products. Protifarm is the leading company in using insects in groceries, while up until now Ynsect has been active in the domain of animal feed production. Ynsect is going to focus on high-protein dietary supplements for athletes and the elderly, but in a few years’ time they plan to enter the meat substitute market too.
