Representing continuity
Following the retirement of Pál Bartus, László Murányi former general deputy of the CEO has become the new CEO of Co-op Hungary Zrt. He has been working in co-operative trade for 30 years. In 1995, he was elected vice chairman of the National Association of Purchase and Sales Co-operatives, in which position his main duty was to reorganise co-operative retail and wholesale trade. Co-op Hungary Zrt. was established in 1998 to operate the Coop franchise system. In the new company László Murányi was responsible for the business strategy of the retail chain and purchasing, which means he represents continuity in his new position. The three areas of special importance in the framework of the new group strategy to be implemented by him are IT, the improvement of the logistics system and of the external and internal appearance of Coop stores.
