Consumption has become the new mantra in the Chinese economy
Chinese leadership wants to boost economic growth primarily through boosting domestic consumption – origo wrote. But there are still serious limitations to this, despite Chinese consumers contributing significantly to GDP growth.
Increasing the willingness of Chinese consumers to buy is now a priority issue at the highest levels of Beijing leadership. The government wants to offset the slowdown in China’s GDP by boosting domestic consumption. (origo)
