SPAR builds a sustainable future in the present
An important part of SPAR Hungary’s corporate philosophy is environmental awareness, social responsibility, respect for employees, food safety, and support for health preservation. Along these lines, the company launched forward-looking programs in the past year, which are presented in its latest sustainability report.
“Sustainability is the biggest issue and challenge of our modern age, which is the stake of our future, and as a responsible company, we must pay attention to this. Our environmental awareness is prominently displayed in the entire company system in terms of energy efficiency, professional waste management, or the preservation of natural resources. As part of our social responsibility, we provide assistance to people in difficult circumstances, we also support animal protection organizations and various social programs. Of course, we do not forget our colleagues, who work every day for common success. We are proud that SPAR Hungary is in 14th place on the joint list of HVG and Planet Fanatics’ Network, which ranks large Hungarian companies based on environmental sustainability, social responsibility and corporate governance (ESG) aspects. We will continue our initiatives in 2024, we are committed to sustainability”
– explained the president and managing director Gabriella Heiszler, who oversees SPAR’s sustainability strategy in addition to several other areas.
