The brake still holds back the industry
In July 2009, industrial production fell by 19.4 percent, compared to the same period a year earlier. KSH’s report states that the volume of production was 22.1 percent lower in the first seven months. With demand drastically falling, industrial export diminished by 25.2 percent. Domestic sales by the processing industry were down by 15.4 percent. Production in processing was 19.7 lower (down 5 percent in food, beverage and tobacco) in July than in July 2008.
