Some of the working young people and students are planning to work abroad
Although many young people are satisfied with their work, a third of them still struggle to take a job abroad for a while. The proportion of students who plan to do so is over 40 percent, according to the K&H youth index, which examined the labor market situation of 19-29-year-olds as well as their opinion on education. Working young people and students who believe that the Hungarian education system can be said to be of European standards are in the minority.
50 percent of working young people feel that they are doing work that interests them and that they also like their work. 28 percent of those who are unsure, who cannot take a clear position on this issue. Only 8 percent said that they are neither interested in their work nor do they like it – among other things, this was found by the K&H youth index, which asked about the plans of 19-29-year-olds regarding work and study, and also asked the survey participants to say their opinion on the standard of Hungarian education. The research reflects the mood of the second quarter of 2023.
More than a third of working young people, 35 percent, believe that they would easily find a job if they had to choose another workplace, and 11 percent believe that they could find a job very easily.
A third of them, i.e. 33 percent, considered their situation average when it came to looking for a new job. The proportion of those who feel that they would rather find themselves in a difficult or very difficult situation if they had to look for a new job is also 33 percent. The proportion of these young people with a more pessimistic attitude is well above the average in the eastern part of the country, at 44 percent. On the other hand, only 27 percent in the central region – Budapest and Pest County – and only 21 percent in the western region feel that it would be very difficult or rather difficult to find a job when changing jobs.
